Bangkok always has my heart.
I have been living in Bangkok for some time many years ago (during that year between your high school and college), from hotels to serviced apartments, from hanging out at tourist spots to where locals usually go. This year I came back again to Bangkok and I just realized how much I have missed this place!
In here I am going to sharing with you all some of my favorite places + stuff!
JJ Green Market
This is my new favorite night market during this time I visited Bangkok, it is so much more than a tourist spot, it is a place for all the young people to hang out as well – it is also called as Siam Gypsy Market. It is not as large as the other night markets I’ve been, but the vendors’ sections are more organized than any others.
The JJ Green Market starts at 6ish when you are there around 6 pm, some people has already started their pre-shop at the daytime JJ Market nearby and come straight to here), you will see lots of young merchants driving into the market with their trucks full of clothes, crafts, vintage toys and their second-hand goodies and starting to display their goods in front, as a large part of the market takes place in a parking lot. If you are a lover of classics and antique stuff, there’s no way you want to miss out this one.
Except for super cheap selections of outfits and crafts, there is a wide range of nicely decorated/ decent live music bars and street food stalls that stuffed with lots of street artist/ singers/ bands. If you don’t want to waste your time sitting, there are also some other food vendors of special food and drinks around the market, from local Thai food to Korean grills! (Special recommendations: Vintage Style Kanom Krok (Coconut Milk Dessert.)
P.S. I’ve also grabbed a quick dinner there and that was one of my best meal ever had during the stay.
Open: Friday – Sunday every week, from 5:30 pm – 12 am (highly recommended to go there after 6 pm when the stalls are 80% opened and ready for your visit.)
